Burke and Pennington prevail at Eagle Pointe.
Dean Burke got around the tricky Eagle Pointe GC layout in a strong 3-under par 68. It was a steady round from start to finish with hardly a miscue until an unforced error bogey 5 on the 18th. It was a nice victory in the Mid-Am division for the young Mr. Burke. John Hunter continued to be steady and in the mix every time he tees it up. He missed out on a playoff by a single shot after carding a tidy 2-under par 69. Ed Pennington continued to fend off his fellow Senior Am competitors by taking another title at Eagle Point with a 1-under par 70 which featured a hole-out eagle two on the par 4 fourth hole at Eagle Point. Alan Fama was neck and neck with Pennington the whole way until the tough 16th got the best of him. Eagle Pointe turned out to be nice new venue for the Medalist GA. We look forward to making our way back there in 2016. Next event is only three weeks away at Blackhorse GC North. Hope to see you all there!
