Marland and Hunter take crowns at Champions
Steve Marland captured the last event of the season at Champions GC with a two day total of 143. Marland fired a sterling round of 67 on the Jackrabbit course at Champions on Saturday and held on at the Cypress course on Sunday for a two shot victory over four players. John Hunter, Dean Burke, Randy Lance, and Ryan Clarke all finished at 145. Hunter's second place finish edged him ahead of Bill Skorheim to take the season long points Championship for the 2017 season.

Hunter claims Cypresswood Strokeplay
John Hunter bested the field on day one with a solid round of 2-under par 70 and held on with a strong back nine on Sunday to finish at even par 144. Hunter finished two strokes clear of Mike Burke and Bill Skorheim who each had another solid finish for the early 2017 season. The weather was a factor early on Sunday but by the back nine, it had cleared through and the players had great conditions coming in. There are two more events before the season ending championship in July.

Skorheim wins rain shortened Black Horse Event
Bill Skorheim shot a tidy round of 3-under par 69 to take the first event of the 2017 season at Black Horse GC North. Saturdays round was rained out well into the back nine when the course became unplayable. The field teed it up for a winner take all 18 hole event on a cold Sunday at Black Horse. Mike Burke and Bryan Mitchell both carded one under par rounds of 71 to tie for 2nd place. The Medalist tees it up on June 1-2 at the Tradition course at Cypresswood for the second event of the year.

2017 Tournament Formats and HGA City Am exemptions
TOURNAMENT FORMAT and PLAYER OF THE YEAR POINTSAll tournaments will be competed from two sets of tees based on eligibility. We are all competing for one event but the option is there for the senior amateurs to play from he Senior tee markers. There are not separate competitions for Mid- Ams and Senior Ams. All players are competing against each other.CITY AMATEUR EXEMPTIONS:For the 2017 season, we are competing for 5 exemptions for the HGA City Amateur championship.
